We’ve had a copy of this very painting for quite some time – maybe 4-5 years now. It’s been hung in several places throughout the many homes we’ve lived in. Angelica has always been fond of it and when we moved to the Philippines it was her specific instructions to hang it right in front of our bed so that she would see it everyday.
Dream Board:
In the last month we started watching the movie The Secret again. Each morning while we got ready, we would turn on the DVD and let it play as we prepared for our day. If you’ve watched the movie, you might remember the part where one of the speakers mentions an experience he had regarding his “Dream Board”. If you aren’t familiar with the term, a dream board is simply a board filled with visual images/pictures of all the things you want to attract into your life. In it you could include pictures of anything your heart desires. (cars, jewelry, money, a lifestyle, your dream home, your future life…) We have actually done this exercise with our kids and they all have a ball with it.
Anyway, back to the movie… When the guy takes a look at what he created many years back, he was blown away at the fact that the very house he posted on his board is the very home he currently owns.
Dancing in the Rain:
At first look it seems like just a nice painting of a very rich, very romantic couple dancing in the rain while their butler and maid held up two umbrellas to keep them dry. Wow! What a life we thought… In our eyes it was obviously a fairy tale scene, a dream, or something to wish for. We couldn’t imagine how we would ever experience a life like that… I mean, both Angelica and I were doing well professionally, but to afford this lifestyle would require us to improve our income by at least 10x our current status. Not impossible, I suppose, but it seemed very unrealistic. But hey, one could dream, right?
Coincidence or Law of Attraction:
So this brings me to my main point. It’s been 5 years since that time. Just 18 months ago I had no idea that I would be doing what I am doing and living where I’m living. I am now back in the Philippines, owning and operating my own company and living in the heart of the city of Makati with Angelica and our 3 children. Although Angelica and I haven’t actually danced in the rain, just yet, it is absolutely clear to us that as this picture hangs in our bedroom, we are living the life and experiencing the lifestyle that is equivalent to it! =)
Life is amazing… Always dream… Because everything is possible!
